Hey Folks,
See what I’ve just added at the top left side![]()
![]()
![]()
of my blog just next to the URL line?
Yes it’s a picture of me along with an animated text
that describes what my blog is all about.
cool ha?
It is called ‘Favicon’ which is shortening of ‘Favorite Icon’.
It allows you to put your picture or your logo and have more exposure to your brand.
Now I’ve discovered that an animated text can be added to it which is another benefit
for you and your brand.
Think about the uniqueness of it and the instant brand recognition you can have
with it – especially in our big distractions era.
So, I guess your next thought is, how do I get myself such a favicon, right?
It’s very simple actually and you can have all the details right on this site:
==> http://www.animatedfavicon.com/
But before you jump to the site to implement it for you, here are some notes in
regarding to implement it in a WordPress blog:
- If your blog theme supports uploading favicon directly via it’s option, use it.
otherwise, load the animated_favicon.gif to the root folder of your theme:
‘wp-content->theme->your theme name; - Paste the 2 HTML tag lines beneath the <head> tags of your blog by accessing
the ‘Appearance->Editor->Header‘ and just under the <head> tag.
(use with caution).
That’s it. now refresh your blog and you should see it.
Please note that An animated favicon is currently not supported in Internet Explorer.
So the one who use it should see only the icon with no animation !!!
Enjoy and Have a great weekend!
Yours in Success…
Yossi
